Qualifications
Kerryn has postgraduate qualifications in Psychology and Dietetics. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and Graduate Diploma in Psychology Advanced from Monash University, a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics from Deakin University, and a Bachelor of Science from Monash University.

What does diaita mean?
Diaita is the Greek word for "way of life" and is the root word for "diet" in English.
Diaita Psychology combines Kerryn's background as a Dietitian and now Child and Adolescent Psychologist. Kerryn enjoys combining both her knowledge of nutrition, dietetics and psychotherapy to help children and young people nourish their minds and bodies.
Meet Kerryn O'Brien
👋 Welcome to Diaita Psychology -
I'm Kerryn, a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA and Dietitian (member of the Dieitian's Association of Australia) with many years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families with eating, feeding, and mental health issues. My unique dual qualifications allow me to take a holistic, compassionate approach to wellbeing, addressing both mental health and nutrition through a family-centred lens.

I founded Diaita Psychology to create a warm, inclusive telehealth space where parents feel supported and young people feel heard. Whether you are navigating fussy eating, anxiety, feeding challenges like ARFID, or family stress around mealtimes, I'm, here to walk alongside you with evidence-based care and practical strategies that fit real life.

As a parent myself, I understand the need for flexibility, empathy, and sustainable solutions. I bring this perspective into every session - blending clinical expertise with real-world practicality.

A safe, secure, confidential and respectful space for your child or teen accessible Australia-wide
